LESSONS & PROGRAMS

ALPINE SKI, SNOWBOARD
& NORDIC CROSS-COUNTRY SKI

Mount Washington’s team of professional instructors have always provided utmost support and guidance for all ages through every step of the ski or snowboard learning journey, and that will be highlighted now more than ever. Lessons and programs have been adapted for physical distancing and required face-coverings, as well as to allow more self-paced learning options, smaller class sizes, and shorter lessen durations to reduce the number of needed indoor breaks.

Lessons are available for:

  • Tots: 4-6 years
  • Children: 7-12 years
  • Youth: 13-18 years
  • Adult: 19+ years

Unsure of you or your child’s ability level? Head to mountwashington.ca to review Progression Guides and learn more on ski lessons and programs.

FIRST-TIME SKI & SNOWBOARD LESSONS

New to the sport? The mountain offers a variety of first-time lesson options with follow ups to ensure your progression.

Discover Ski or Snowboard Packages. Welcome to the sport of skiing, snowboarding, or classic or skate cross-country skiing! Discover lessons are designed for those who have never participated in either sport before.

Learn to Turn or Glide Programs. Mount Washington’s “Learn to Turn” and “Learn to Glide” programs are a combination of 3 popular programs, to help you get out on the slopes and trails faster and with more confidence. “Learn to Turn/Glide” includes a combination of the above Discover Ski, Snowboard or Cross-Country package, along with a few more group lessons and all your rentals, plus lift or trail tickets. Talk about progression. Save up to 50% compared to purchasing separately, details differ depending on age group.

Private Lessons lessons with a dedicated coach is the best way to improve your technique. If you are looking to take your skills to the next level or want to fine-tune your turns one-on-one, then consider taking a private lesson with one of our expert instructors. Plus, you get lift line priority, which means more time on the snow and less in the line up.

Group Lessons are a fun way to learn with others of similar ability. To follow physical distancing group lesson class sizes have been reduced with more self-paced learning options. The Pro Instructors are trained to deal with splits in classes to keep the learning environment fun and active for everyone, at a more accessible cost than a private lesson.

Wild Play Element Parks

Little platforms way, way above your head. Dozens of ziplines whizzing everywhere. A gravity-powered jump that makes your palms sweat. More suspended ladders, bridges, nets, and obstacle games than you can count. The swing, so giant and fast that it makes your vision blur. Some call it crazy, or thrilling – kinda terrifying, or surprisingly intense. We call it WildPlay.

When life feels boring, too cozy, or is just missing something, it’s a signal to push at the edges of your comfort zone. Imagine what a little nudge (or a big ‘ol leap) into a new aerial adventure will bring. Fun? Challenge? Adrenaline? At WildPlay, that’s only the beginning. Let your fear out to play.

The Rolling Barrel

Avid explorers and happy ambassadors of Vancouver island.

The Rolling Barrel is the brain child of two fun loving and adventurous friends. Tanner Mac and Peter have been partners in fun projects since they were in elementary school. When they had the pleasure of riding a similar peddle bike in New Orleans while on vacation with a group of friends they knew that this is what Victoria was lacking and they wanted to be the one to fill the void.

The Rolling Barrel’s maiden launch was in 2016 and since then we have added another bike and several new tour routes.

We strive to improve with each tour and every piece of feedback. We are proud of our city and love to share its details with visitors and locals alike. Most of all we love to hear you laughing and having fun.
